Popcorn is health food!?

Go ahead and eat up, folks! Just make sure your family members can eat popcorn safely, since it's a choking hazard for those who cannot chew or swallow well. Our family enjoys air-popped popcorn with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! spray (ZERO calories!) and either Brewer's Yeast (also called nutritional yeast, sold at health food stores) or parmesan cheese.

Happy World Down Sydrome Day 2012!

Happy World Down Syndrome Day to all those with Down Syndrome and all those blessed to know them!

I also wanted to give a shout out to all the people with Down Syndrome whom I have known and worked with over the years.  Rudy, Ava, Bryce, Donald, Cole, Jimena, Trent, Cindy, and Kyle  -- you have all been blessings in my life!

For parents, family members, and friends of people with Down Syndrome, I have created a page of Down Syndrome resources that offers information on non-profits, recreational activities, books, blogs, and more!

Yoga - Yes or No?

I have always had a love-hate relationship with Yoga.  I personally don't believe in the "spiritual" side of Yoga, but believe that it helps with isometric strengthening, balance, and flexibility.  I know many people who swear by Yoga and go to classes regularly and that is why I was shocked to see this article:  How Yoga Can Wreck Your Body
